“How can I ever thank you?” said Anna*, mother of twin baby boys. “It’s more than the
meals, clothing and help with parenting. You really believe in me and I want to live up to that!”

Your donation helps vulnerable people like Anna with practical support for today and
hope for tomorrow. Thanks for reaching out to your neighbors in need this spring.

Sincerely yours,

First Central Mortgage Funding comments on update to Conrad Black Fraud Case: Should Convictions be dropped
The defense lawyers are saying that the mistake and broad definition may have led to the jury falsly convicting Conrad Black. They say the government cannot negate the likelihood that at least one juror took this short path and convicted him on honest services.

The Defense lawyers are also saying that the Obstruction of Justice charge is irrelevant and should be dropped since the other charges related to it were thrown out..

The lawyers are saying due to that mistake and the irrelavent charge and the inability to prove without a doubt, the convictions against Conrad Black should all be dropped.

These filings apply to the other executives named in the case. Not just Conrad Black.

First Central Mortgage Funding Fraud Assault Reports of Scam Artist On The Run

Police are seeking a Ballston Spa man who is accused of scamming senior locals out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, after he twice failed to appear for arraignment hearings this week according to First Central Mortgage Funding sources.

John David Pratt, who was accused as of July 29 on a host of felony charges, was originally booked to be sentenced in Saratoga County Court on but failed to appear after complaining of car trouble according to First Central Mortgage Funding sources.

The hearing was re-scheduled, but Pratt again failed to show.

The lawyer who was working with Pratt, Michael Keenen, said he had not heard from his client and had no explanation for why he didn’t show or where he was. Keenen has now asked to be removed from the case.

After Pratt failed to appear in court, Judge Jerry Scarano issued a warrant for his arrest that will alert all police agencies to seek him. Authorities said Pratt will be brought in for an arraignment as soon as practical whenever he is found.

Pratt, 42, has been free on bail.

His case was sent to county court following his accusation by a grand jury on five felony grand larceny charges, two felony fraud charges and two misdemeanor charges of failure to pay taxes according to news obtained by First Central Mortgage Funding.

Police stated, in at least three cases, Pratt approached senior locals in Saratoga County and asked to help with home repairs in exchange for payment. Pratt either never made the repairs or charged exorbitant amounts for the work that was done.

Combined, the three cases constitute about $250,000 in thefts, police said.

A fourth case is being investigated, and additional charges are possible.

Pratt, whose last known address is 885 Middle Line Road, faces a maximum of nearly 40 years in prison if convicted on all of the charges he now faces.
